If you aren’t already aware – July 2024 saw the introduction of the Statutory Code of Practice on Dismissal and Re-engagement, laying down clear requirements for employers when considering ‘fire and re-hire’ practices.
In line with this, new legislation will become effective from 20th January 2025, allowing for a 25% adjustment to any compensation award where the ‘Code’ has not been followed – by either party.
